Hrafnkell Sigur\u00f0sson, a guest artist at G\u00edgur, is currently working on a sculpture from found materials in the M\u00fdvatn area, in collaboration with local residents and sculpture students at \u00deingeyjarsk\u00f3la. On November 21st from 1 PM to 2 PM,<\/strong> there will be an open house in Hrafnkell's studio, and everyone is welcome to stop by, see the artist at work, and get a glimpse of how the artwork will turn out.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hrafnkell has long practiced environmental art, where landscape and nature\u2014including the man-made environment\u2014become part of the creative process and shape the artwork together with the artist. In the M\u00fdvatn area, he is particularly interested in decommissioned agricultural equipment which, along with the work's location and setting, influences the final result. The interplay between mechanical materials and organic forms is a central theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hrafnkell will also speak about the work at the open event \"Chat about Environmental Art,\" which will be held at G\u00edgur on November 25 at 5:00 PM.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hrafnkell's work and sculptures by students from \u00deingeyjarsk\u00f3la will be part of the exhibition Vi\u00f0brag\u00f0 at Akureyri Art Museum, which opens on Creative responses<\/em> \u00e1 Listasafninu \u00e1 Akureyri, sem opnar November 27 at 8:30 PM.<\/strong>Everyone is welcome to that opening as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
